The launching of the new direct flight to Pattaya provided by Qatar Airways was witnessed at the first month of this year. The flight lands at U-tapao and this is the fifth place in Thailand that is currently servicing by the airlines. This is also the first new route that was introduced by the airline for 2018. It is part of the goal of the company to expand fast with regards to its international routes. Travelers planning to visit Thailand will not be able to try out the rooftop restaurant in Sukhumvit, visit attraction and eat Thai delicacies with the direct flights offered by the airline.

According to the group chief executive of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker, they are proud to be the first airline company from the Middle East to have direct flights going to Pattaya. Before 2017 ends, they were able to launch their flights going to Chiang Mai and in less than two months their flight to Bangkok will be launched. The new route only proves that the bond between Thailand and Qatar is stronger than before.

He added that many of their passengers have been dreaming to visit Thailand thus to answer the growing demand, they decided to open the new route. They are happy to be able to cater to their passengers and make sure they get the five-star service they deserve. The airline is hoping that more destinations in the Far East will be made available to them soon through direct flights.

The Thai government is hoping to grow the Eastern Economic Corridor and the U-tapao airport is necessary to accomplish it. With the new flights, tourists as well as business travellers will be able to get to Pattaya as well as the Eastern Seaboard in a more convenient method.

U-tapao’s director of airport authority, Read AdmLuechai Sri-Eamgool, said that they are hoping to increase the tourism in the area and help in attracting foreign investments in the Pattaya and U-tapao.

It has been over two decades when Qatar Airways first operated in Thailand. They have serviced passengers going to rooftop restaurant in Sukhumvit, resort hotel in Pattaya and partying in Phuket.
