Flight From Chiang Mai Going To Yangon Soon

Travelers who are dreaming to try the best restaurant in Chiang Mai should worry no more because of the recent announcement made by AirAsia which is to introduce a flight linking Yangon, Myanmar and Chiang Mai which is located in the northern part of Thailand. The airline company said that there will be three services available per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The operation between Chiang Mai to Yangon will begin on the 11th of August.

Data showed that the lowest number of travellers going to Yangon is recorded during the months of August and Chiang Mai’s traffic is even lower in comparison. The decision to open the flight stemmed from the fact that the peak season might come between the months of November until March which is the busiest month for Myanmar.

There will be stiff competition with this regard because Bangkok Airways have already launched daily flights between Yangon and Chiang Mai. The flight between the two cities takes only one hour and 25 minutes. It is scheduled every 11:40 in the morning and the flight arrives in Yangon at 12:35 in the afternoon.

The full service fare for a round trip ticket costs 7,147 baht. It already comes with baggage allowance as well as free use of lounge located in the two airports. Myanmar National Airlines, on the other hand, has three flights every week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The cost of the roundtrip ticket is around 5,976 baht.

AirAsia is quite confident because of the high number of customers and their fares are quite cheap with a base fare of 990 baht to be offered during the launch as a special fare for a limited time only. Once the promotion is over, the fare is expected to remain at its regular price which is 2,800 but it will have no add-ons included.

This direct flight is much better compared to the current flight offered by AirAsia wherein the plane has to make a stop at Bangkok to be changed before it resumes travel. The old route takes almost four hours to be completed. Yangon travellers are happy to hear that they can visit the best restaurant in Chiang Mai at a very affordable price.
