One of the most common household problems is hair fall. There are a lot of people who are suffering from this condition. If you think of all the people you know who are having this issue, you might be surprise at the number. You might be experiencing this too. When you take a shower and you see a lot of hair falling and there is nothing you can do to stop it. There are people who have tried different ways to avoid hair fall such as changing their shampoo and other hair products, watching their diet and following specific hair routine advised by professionals but to no avail.
What are the reasons why many men and women are suffering from hair loss? Do you lack nourishment or are you eating the wrong kind of foods? Based on a figure released by the American Hair Loss Association, the average person should experience hair fall of about 100 to 125 every day. These are the ones that are replaced. Hair loss only happens when the hair you are shedding is not growing back or you are losing more than 125 hairs per day. Here are some of the reasons that cause hair fall:
- Physical trauma. Telogen effluvium is a temporary hair loss problem encountered when a person experienced any kind of physical trauma including severe illness, car accident or surgery. Based on a study that was conducted at the American Academy of Dermatology, hair undergoes three different phases – growth, rest and shedding. Stress can cause shock to the hair which then results into longer shedding phase.
- Pregnancy. Dr. Soni Nanda who is a consultant dermatologist said that the most common time when women experience hair loss is about three months after they have given birth. During pregnancy, hair loss stops because of the increase in hormones but after delivery the hormones go back to normal level thus hair loss starts to happen.
- Heredity. There is a hereditary condition called male and female pattern baldness, according to Dr. Amal Ghosh who is a clinical tutor. This is one of the reasons for hair loss in women as well as in men.
